FB Blog - Denbies VineyardMany of our guests have enjoyed a visit to Denbies Vineyard while staying with us.

Denbies is just a short 25 minute drive away from Springwood in picturesque Dorking.  There is plenty to do and see once you are there, you can either spend the day wandering the grounds or joining one of the many daily tours that take place both indoors and outdoors.

Denbies vineyards are located in a protected valley of south facing slopes and are the largest in the UK.  They have met their promise of producing some of the finest sparkling and table wines in Europe and have been awarded repeated certification in the annual International Wine Challenge.

The Denbies Estate has been family owned and run since 1984 and the first vines were planted in 1986, since then it has become one of the largest wine producers in the UK.

If you enjoy history and like to fully experience the place you are visiting then the indoor tour is for you. Indoor tours include Classic Wine Tasting Experience, where you will learn about the geology and history of the estate, experience the changes in the vineyard through the seasons and appreciate the wine making process from vine to bottle.

Passing through the working winery with a full commentary from Denbies Wine Tour Guide you will see the equipment used in today’s wine production.  The journey ends in the atmospheric Denbies cellars where you will be guided through three of Denbies classic wines – sounds great doesn’t it!

If you prefer a slower pace and want to make the most of the breath-taking views then you may prefer the Outdoor Vineyard Train Tour The tour is a 50-minute vineyard tour taking visitors at a leisurely pace to some of the most beautiful viewing points in the vineyard. A recorded commentary enhances your trip making this an informative and comfortable way to experience the magnificent panoramic views of the Denbies Estate and the surrounding North Downs. Whatever the season the changing scenery captures the imagination, from the first bud burst of spring to the opulent vines of the autumn.
