It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

With Christmas just around the corner it’s time to seriously step-up your Christmas shopping!

But you don’t have to battle through the crowds this Christmas buying the same gifts that everyone else is buying. Instead why not make Christmas shopping fun and coincide it with a short break at Springwood.

We’re really lucky to have so many great places on our doorsteps where serious shopping can take place. Whether you’re looking for the bright lights of a cosmopolitan city, the more relaxed experience of beautiful Surrey towns and villages or a Christmas event at one of the many National Trust properties nearby, there’s something for everyone and we thought we’d share some of our guests’ favourites:


Shopping in Brighton is a truly original experience. From the romantic charm of The Lanes and the exuberance of North Lane to the new Churchill Square, the stylish indoor shopping mall in the city centre, Brighton is a place where anything goes. A vibrant mix of high-street stores and small specialist shops selling a dazzling array of the exotic, the familiar or the weird and wonderful. Alongside your favourite brand and designer names, you’ll unearth antique jewellery, kites, tribal textiles and hand-made crafts. And a whole lot more.

London is world famous for its shopping areas and famous shops. Some of its best known shopping areas and shops include Charing Cross Road, Chinatown, Covent Garden, Harrods, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, Portobello Road and Regent Street to name but a few.

South of England Showground

The Winter Fair takes place at the South of England Showground on 5th and 6th December. It’ll be a one-stop shop to pick up lots of local Christmas delights. With a multitude of trade stands ranging from cookware to festive hampers and wonderful gifts, even the most unusual shopping requests will be able to be ticked off the list.

A market town located on the upper reaches of the River Arun in the centre of the Weald, West Sussex, in the historic County of Sussex. Horsham has lots of interesting independent shops and restaurants as well as the usual chain shops in the Mail. There is often a craft or artisan food market held in the square.

A visit to the charming market town of Dorking is a special experience. Surrounded by the beautiful Surrey Hills, you can catch glimpses of the wooded hills and open downland as you walk along the historic streets of the town. Wander around Dorking discovering arts and crafts shops, boutiques, art galleries, jewellers, interiors and furnishing specialists sitting alongside eclectic vintage shops and fabulous antique centres. A stop off at West Street is a must, with its beautiful listed 16th century properties. It is home to the many individual antique shops and antique centres specialising in furniture and objet d’art from the medieval period through to art deco of the 20th century. West Street’s reputation for fine antiques, art galleries and expertise is renowned, attracting buyers worldwide with many dealers trading seven days a week throughout the year.
